a. Information You Provide:

We collect information you provide when you create an account, use the app, or contact support. This includes account details (name, email), profile content you add about people you gift (e.g., names, relationships, birthdays/anniversaries, interests, dislikes, sizes, wishlist items, past gifts, notes, and custom dates), your in‑app preferences and settings, and feedback on recommendations.

b. Automatically Collected Information:

We also collect device and app data such as push notification tokens, platform (iOS/Android), device model, OS version, and app interaction data (e.g., screens visited, features used) for analytics and to improve our service. Your user ID is shared with our subscription management provider, RevenueCat, to manage your subscription status.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to operate and improve Aril, personalize gift recommendations (including sending limited profile context to our AI provider via our server), manage subscriptions, send push notifications and reminders you enable, enforce free‑tier limits, provide support, and for internal analytics to understand how our app is used.

3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), we process your personal data on the following legal bases:

Consent:

For optional features like marketing communications.

Contractual Necessity:

To provide the core services of the app, such as creating your account and managing your profiles.

Legitimate Interests:

For improving our service, analytics, and security, provided these interests do not override your fundamental rights and freedoms.

4. Advertising and Third-Party Services

For Free Users:

If you use the free version of our app, we display advertisements provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use certain information about you and your device to serve personalized ads, including device identifiers (such as Advertising ID), IP address, device model, operating system, and app usage data. This data collection is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

For Premium Users:

Premium subscribers do not see advertisements and Google AdMob does not collect data from premium users within our app.

Opt-Out:

You can opt out of personalized advertising by adjusting your device settings. On Android, go to Settings → Google → Ads and enable "Opt out of Ads Personalization." On iOS, go to Settings → Privacy → Advertising and enable "Limit Ad Tracking."

5. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers necessary to run the app: Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions) for account and data storage; Google Generative AI (via our Cloud Functions) to produce recommendations from limited, relevant profile context; Expo for push notification delivery; RevenueCat plus Apple App Store/Google Play for subscription management and billing; and Google AdMob (for free users only) to display advertisements. These providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies. We share only what is needed to provide the service.

6. Data Security

We use industry‑standard safeguards and Firebase security rules to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account and profile data while your account is active. Push tokens are kept until invalidated or you sign out. You may request data deletion at any time (see "Your Rights"). We may keep limited records as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

8. Your Rights

You can access, correct, or delete your information. To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us at mustafabarisimdat@gmail.com. If available in‑app, you may also use a delete option to remove your data. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under local laws.

9. Children's Privacy

Our service is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

10. International Data Transfers

Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. By using the service, you understand your information may be transferred and processed outside of your country of residence where laws may differ.

11. Business Transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as a business asset. In such cases, we will provide notice before your personal information is transferred and/or becomes subject to a different Privacy Policy.
